How this was made
Bollywoke is a wire, not a wire service pretending to be a newsroom. Every item you read here traces back to a real source, an automated pipeline, and — for anything sensitive — a human who signed off before it published.
590+ sources across 27 markets
We track 590+ verified sources across 27 South Asian diaspora markets: official government and cultural calendars, temples and religious organizations, venues and ticketing platforms, and diaspora press outlets. Each source is registered with a trust score that adjusts as we observe how accurate and timely its feed is over time.
Hourly, automated collection
Sources are polled on a schedule — most hourly, some at a slower cadence appropriate to how often they change. Every fetch is logged: what was pulled, when, and from where. That log is what powers the “assembled from” line on every item page.
Relevance filtering
Raw items are deduplicated and scored for relevance, freshness, geographic fit, source trust, novelty, and reader feedback before they are considered for the wire. Low-relevance and duplicate items never surface.
AI-assisted summaries, human review for sensitive topics
Items that clear the relevance bar get an AI-drafted summary and deck. An “AI-drafted, human-reviewed” label means exactly that: a model wrote the first pass, and a person reviewed it before or shortly after it went live. Items touching politics, religion, or crime are always routed to a human reviewer before they publish — no exceptions, regardless of source trust. Everything else can auto-publish from sources with an established trust record, with review happening on a sample and on reader-flagged items.

Bollywoke does not republish full articles or resell tickets. Every item links out to its original source — the venue, the organizer, the publication — so you can read, RSVP, or buy directly from them. Outbound links are never paywalled or intercepted; they go straight to the source.
